Doily Blossoms
Materials Needed:
Floral tape & floral wire Transparent tape
Green construction paper 4" Royal Lace Medallion doilies
8" Royal Lace French doilies (optional) ribbons for tying into bouquet
8" Pink Royal Lace French doilies

Carnation:
  1. Grasp center of 4" doily and make a twist, causing doily to ruffle into a bunch. Pinch together at bottom tightly and wrap with short piece of transparent tape. Repeat for 3 more blooms.
  2. Taking a 12" length of wire, loop one end back about 1/2" for blossom end.
  3. Place the looped end in center of the 4 blooms. Arrange evenly. Gather the ends securely around the wire and tape tightly. Cover this bunch of twisted ends tightly with floral tape.
  4. Continue to wrap floral tape around this portion, then down the entire length of wire. You can do another layer of tape for a thicker stem.
  5. Fold leaves in center and place on stem where desired. Attach the stem end of leaf with a short piece of floral tape. Repeat for second leaf.

Rosebud:
  1. Cut 8" doily in half. Cut in half again (parallel to first cut). Take the longest strip and cut a loosely scalloped edge on the longest side.
  2. Take your length of wire and loop over on end about 1/2". Wrap tightly with about 1" of floral tape.
  3. Beginning with a short "lace end" of your strip, gather and pleat the unscalloped long edge around the wire (about 1-1/2" down from your covered loop).
  4. Gathers should be loose so that the bud begins to form. The remaining short "lace end" creates one last lacy petal. Add leaves in same manner described for carnation. You may curl ends of leaves over your finger for more realistic look.

Narcissus:
  1. Take a 4" doily and pinch together at one end to create a petal. Make three petals.
  2. Cut a pink doily in quarters (use lace edge). Roll up (in similar fashion to above rosebud) to create the center of flower.
  3. Take a 14" length of wire, folding over top end 1/2". Work bottom end of wire through pink lace flower center. Secure base of center to wire stem approximately 2" from looped end, securing with tape.
  4. Arrange the three petals evenly around this pink center. Holding firmly, attach petals with floral tape. After securing well, continue to wrap stem and add leaves as described above.
